IBIS TV Clever. Not complicated

iAcquire

Adding value to the ingest process

IBIS believes that controlling of the acquisition of material into your facility is vital to the complete media management workflow. To be able to track material from the point at which it is scheduled to arrive, through the ingest and review processes is key to maintaining the integrity of your data.

iAcquire – Server Ingest

With iAcquire you have the tools necessary to ingest from tape; via scheduled line feed; crash record; or file transfer.

Taking the routine out of routine ingest by setting up a diary of dates, times and sources for the acquisition of material from outside sources, i.e. Reuters or AP. Metadata is automatically added to the feed to aid the ingest process.  When used with IBIS Router Control up to 256 inputs can be controlled. The Arrivals Board displays scheduled recordings against a timeline and destination matrix in order to give an accurate supervisory view of the ingest workflow.

By marking an in and an out point on the integrated control panel, iAcquire allows the operator to ingest precisely what is needed – cutting down on wasted storage space in the server and speeding up ingest time.

Drop you server into record to instantly acquire breaking news material and add metadata.

Use the iAcquire workstation to trim the in and out points of material on the server. Again, perfect for fast turnaround of stories – take them straight from the feed to air with the minimum of post production effort.

Use the iAcquire workstation to review the material just loaded – the digital equivalent of checking it’s on the tape. Flip the application to review, select the material just loaded on the server and view the top and tail or the whole clip. By controlling an output port of the server material can be reviewed, the SOM & EOM amended and metadata edited.

Add automation metadata on ingest, or use the iAcquire application to add more metadata once the material is on the server.

Call up a clip just ingested and drop the server into jog/shuttle mode to review the clip in more detail.  Clearly this is server dependant as not all servers offer this mode of operation, but where it is possible IBIS iAcquire allows you to exploit this feature as standard.

iAcquire - Network Ingest

Using reliable IBIS provided hardware to move SD and HD SDI video and audio material in to and out of file-based workflows. Running on a two channel HD or 4 channel SD encoder iAcquire Network Ingest handles DNxHD, DVCPRO HD, ProRes SQ, DV IMX & MPEG 2 files.

When used with iFind workflow rules, it is possible to schedule the ingest of material to manage the process of material capture and to arrange the selective transfer of clips to other devices in the workflow.

iLogger Server Ingest option

Developed from the award winning IBIS Highlighter, the iLogger option provides live logging functionality as media is ingested onto Omneon, Thomson K2 or Quantel v3 videoservers via API.

iLogger offers media tagging on acquisition.  The logging application gives an operator the ability to tag an incoming live feed or feeds with event specific metadata.  Designed to be used in a studio gallery or outside broadcast unit iLogger maintains the metadata with the media long after the live event has ended.

By tagging the incoming media with event specific metadata the process of searching for appropriate post-record material is made more accurate. Finding material for a highlights package; searching for alternative takes; fast review of ‘points of interest’ within an event is easily achieved with iLogger and iFind.
