IBIS TV Clever. Not complicated

IBIS at IBC 2008 - Media Asset Management takes centre stage

September 2008, IBC Booth 7.D10: IBIS (Integrated Broadcast Information Systems) will present its full line-up of solutions and new technology developments at IBC 2008.  Featuring real workflows from recent worldwide installations IBIS will demonstrate the speed, efficiency and versatility possible in a seamless and transparent system under IBIS control. Every 30 minutes on the hour and half-hour, IBIS will display media asset management for News and Sport production, distribution of media and archive in a multi-channel and distributed environment.

All IBIS solutions run on the fully integrated IBIS Media Asset Management platform - iFind. Integrated production and playout capabilities combined with iFind, enable broadcasters such as the BBC and content producers such as ITN to optimize their media. IBIS iFind Enterprise edition captures, creates, manages, distributes and stores metadata and media across the broadcast workflow. iFind offers a web services API in order to facilitate integration of third-party systems and applications.

With over 5,000 MAM workstations currently in use, the IBIS Operational Services team provides broadcast professionals with real editorial workflow experience and technical expertise to maximise their workflow.

Showing award winning IBIS Highlighter on Quantel’s sQ server, sports highlights are produced on the fly, picked up via IBIS iFind to play to air (and archive) via IBIS ServerPlay with a MOS gateway in an Octopus newsroom environment operating with an Omneon Spectrum server. Highlighted material can also be edited in Final Cut Pro before being taken to air by IBIS ServerPlay. (NB. this fast turnaround/live to air graphics generation software is also available for EVS and Omneon videoservers).

Visitors to the IBIS Booth will be able to witness true interoperability as IBIS demonstrates media asset management via the automated bulk file ingest and export of media between Sony’s XDCart and an AVID newsroom environment, On the Sony Booth, IBIS iMove and ServerPlay will be demonstrated working via a MOS gateway on an Omneon MediaDeck server integrated with Sony’s HDXchange.

New Products will include:

iFind v3, which has a new look and feel for even more speed and efficiency to search, find and browse at the desktop. New search capabilities will be demonstrated using Video and Audio Mining technologies from IBIS partner Aurix. Additional media management functionality is provided with new Broadcast Rights information obtained via a link to IBIS Channel Management, which contains all media contract information and is scalable from IPTV through to full multichannel environments.

A new addition is iCode which provides simultaneous transcoding and transfer of material into multiple formats.
