IBIS iFind provides Enterprise-wide Media Asset Management
September 2008, IBC Booth 7.D10: The IBIS iE-MAM suite of server applications is in daily use at ITN and BBC Regions providing real time media asset management for the broadcast environment. iE-MAM is used in News, Sports, production and archive workflows. Together with IBIS’s established ServerBase Asset Core application, iFind presents genuine, comprehensive media asset management in a package which includes system-wide searching, sort, move, send-to and restore-from archive management, using true ‘Free Text’ searching through individual words - not just matching a field to search criteria.
iFind functions enable comprehensive searching though a number of criteria: keyword search – throughout all the text fields; category search – for fast filtering of the database and source search – to locate the origination of the media. Together with these, the ability to build searches by subject matter, operate top level rights management and identify media location on an enterprise-wide basis, makes iFind one of the most adaptable, fast and accurate search tools around.
One of the unique key functions of iFind is its remote access capability, which enables secure log in from anywhere in the world to search the Asset core for information, and action according to permissions.
iFind v.3 now offers iCode which has been specifically designed to enable the simultaneous transcode and transfer of multiple formats in a transparent action.
ServerBase gives a central and stable core to the full media management system, enabling business rule based workflows for archive, restore, clip movement and deletion.
Browse proxy support allows desktop clip management with the ability to add and maintain ‘points of information’ to enhance the clip annotation metadata and variants are available for web access or to run as an ActiveX.
