IBIS increases functionality for Highlighter
September 2007, IBC Stand 7.310: IBIS has increased the functionality of their award-winning Highlighter application, which is specifically designed for fast turnaround in News and Sports News environments.
Highlighter allows multiple live feed video to be captured and played instantly to air. Event specific metadata captured alongside the material is held with the clip in an open database which can be accessed for instant live-to-air graphics or archived for use long after the live event has ended.
The Highlighter enhancements include a single widescreen touch screen interface and a new, faster hardware panel from J L Cooper, which has been customised to provide a number of proprietary features. Operators now have access to a variety of controls -> mouse, hardware panel and multiple or single widescreen touch screen -> which they may use individually or in combination, providing even more speed, ease of use and intuitive interaction.
One of the most fascinating features is the addition to the control panel of ‘soft buttons’, which are not fixed functions, but show dynamically whatever labels are appropriate to the sport being covered.
According to Andrew Winter, Director of Marketing, “The new enhancements to Highlighter will enable those in the highly charged environment of a News or Sports News room to be completely in control and confident of fast, accurate and intuitive turn-round of material.”
