This page provides some sample system diagrams and workflows for a variety of operation requirements. These show typical configurations in a simplified manner. Actual implementations have considerable workflow definitions and business rules which are too complex to present here so please contact us to discuss your specific requirements. iFind is capable of fulfilling most asset management requirements within the broadcast industry and can be applied to many workflows which are not represented here.

Sports
Sports WorkFlow Example
One of the defining characteristics of modern sports broadcast channels is the rapid turnaround of long form material in a variety of forms. As well as live broadcasting of sports with a potential need to add commercial breaks, the global interest in many sports creates the need for time delayed versions, a multitude of summary and highlights versions and the addition of one or more local language commentary tracks.
The workflow here shows these requirements as a high level series of steps which between them cater for all the forms of playout required. The workflow has to be capable of making material from ingest to playout in a very short time (a low number of seconds) and while the event is till being recorded.
The system diagram shows hows this was implemented using iFind and its components to deliver this operation for a large broadcaster's new HD channels.

News
News WorkFlow Example
Whilst sharing some attributes with the Sports example, News production typically is based around the acquisition of shorter duration material (tens of minutes rather than hours) and the rapid creation of short packages from the source material for playout in discrete news bulletins and/or rolling 2 hours news channels.
As such is less on the capture of significant meta and tagging information early and more towards the extraction of suitable pictures and segments to match the specific bulletin requirements. Increasingly this material has to be cut o suit different media TV, radio, Web, mobile etc.
A strong integration with Newsroom systems is required with the ability to tie the editorial decisions quickly and accurately to the available media.
Logging and Archiving requirements major on the cut packages, with strong descriptive tagging being possible to allow this material to be rapidly found and retrieved at any point in the future.
